An augmented reality orchestra plays the famous “Mission: Impossible” theme by Lalo Schifrin. With your smartphone as a magic magnifying glass, you can get very close to the instruments. Experience the orchestra as a whole or listen to the individual instruments, just as you like. My “Mission: Impossible OrchestrAR” app allows you to experience music in a new way.<\/p>\n

This experience is a spin-off from the sax@play project of the Landesb\u00fchnen Sachsen, for which I designed this orchestral experience as a scene within an augmented reality theatre game in public space based on Kafka’s “The Castle” in 2021. This game was created by Expanding Focus<\/a> and Play On<\/a>, to whom I extend my sincere thanks for allowing me to transfer this scene into an independent app.<\/p>\n

For this experience, I supplemented the recording of the orchestra of the Landesb\u00fchnen Sachsen with digital instrument samples to get a higher separation of the instruments. The 3D binauralization was done with the DearVR<\/a> Spatializer. Manuel Schumach helped me with the realisation of the app.<\/p>\n
