For the award ceremony I conceived five musical show acts, which formed a journey through the last 150 years of innovations in musical instrument making.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/1-klein-homepage-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-4614\" src=\"https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/1-klein-homepage-2-360x240.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"240\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/1-klein-homepage-2-360x240.jpg 360w, https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/1-klein-homepage-2-680x453.jpg 680w, https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/1-klein-homepage-2-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/1-klein-homepage-2-1140x760.jpg 1140w, https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/1-klein-homepage-2.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/a>The <strong>saxophone<\/strong> is the last &#8220;real&#8221; invention in the family of classical musical instruments.\u00a0Invented 150 years ago by the Belgian Adolphe Sax, the instrument is about as old as the invention of the car.\u00a0With the invention of the saxophone, Sax wanted to create a woodwind instrument that lies between the warm, flexible sound of the clarinet and the rather penetrating, tumbling sound of the oboe.\u00a0The award-winning <a href=\"http:\/\/www.arcissaxophonquartett.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Arcis Saxophone Quartet<\/a> was founded in 2009 at the Musikhochschule M\u00fcnchen and is taking the world&#8217;s stages by storm.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Carolina-Eyck.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-4617\" src=\"https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Carolina-Eyck-290x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"290\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Carolina-Eyck-290x300.jpg 290w, https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Carolina-Eyck-680x703.jpg 680w, https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Carolina-Eyck.jpg 750w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 290px) 100vw, 290px\" \/><\/a>The <strong>theremin<\/strong> was invented in 1920 by the young Russian physicist L\u00e9on Theremin as a result of research on proximity sensors funded by the Soviet government.\u00a0Although not a commercial success, it fascinated audiences worldwide. Some well-known thereminists toured with great success and played a classical repertoire in concert halls.\u00a0Today the instrument is rediscovered by young virtuosos such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.carolinaeyck.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carolina Eyck<\/a> in cross-genre settings.\u00a0She is considered one of the best theremin players in the world.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/rpgea2-Shanti-Handpan.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-4619\" src=\"https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/rpgea2-Shanti-Handpan-360x270.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"270\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/rpgea2-Shanti-Handpan-360x270.jpg 360w, https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/rpgea2-Shanti-Handpan-680x510.jpg 680w, https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/rpgea2-Shanti-Handpan.jpg 933w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/a>The 20th century is the century of percussion instruments and innovations.\u00a0Invented in 2000 by Felix Rohner and Sabina Sch\u00e4rer in Bern, Switzerland, the <strong>Hang<\/strong> uses some of the same basic physical principles as the Steel Drum from Trinidad.\u00a0The name Hang comes from the Swiss word for hand. It is played with hands and fingers instead of mallets. This easier way of playing produces a sound richer in overtones, softer and warmer than the bright sound of a traditional steel drum played with mallets. <a href=\"http:\/\/nadishana.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nadishana<\/a> plays over 200 instruments and is one of the three &#8220;first calls&#8221; worldwide for the Hang.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Robert-Wolf-alias-Robeat-Beatboxer-aus-Stuttgart-2015.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-4618\" src=\"https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Robert-Wolf-alias-Robeat-Beatboxer-aus-Stuttgart-2015-360x203.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"203\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Robert-Wolf-alias-Robeat-Beatboxer-aus-Stuttgart-2015-360x203.jpg 360w, https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Robert-Wolf-alias-Robeat-Beatboxer-aus-Stuttgart-2015-680x383.jpg 680w, https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Robert-Wolf-alias-Robeat-Beatboxer-aus-Stuttgart-2015-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Robert-Wolf-alias-Robeat-Beatboxer-aus-Stuttgart-2015-1140x641.jpg 1140w, https:\/\/mathis-nitschke.com\/wp18\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Robert-Wolf-alias-Robeat-Beatboxer-aus-Stuttgart-2015.jpg 1408w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 360px) 100vw, 360px\" \/><\/a><\/strong><strong>Beat Boxing<\/strong> is a vocal technique that imitates the drum machines of the 1980&#8217;s, especially the Roland TR-808. Since many hip hop fans could not afford drum machines and samplers, beatboxing was the alternative in jam sessions. Meanwhile beat boxing is more than just hip hop. It has become a versatile and independent instrument that has become increasingly complex over the years.\u00a0The reigning European champion in beatboxing, RoBeat, says: &#8220;Beatbox is not a Hip Hop thing, it&#8217;s a universal thing!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>My arrangement of Ennio Morricone&#8217;s famous film music &#8220;The Ecstacy of Gold&#8221; for all these exceptional musicians together concluded this award ceremony.\u00a0&#8220;This will be one of the best moments in my career as a BMW retailer,&#8221; said not only one of the guests.
